Georgia Neurobehavioral Associates provides comprehensive ADHD evaluations for children, adolescents and adults. The evaluation will involve psychological tests and clinical interviews to determine if the patients' difficulties are due to ADHD or some other psychological concern. After the evaluation, you will receive a report outlining the results of the evaluation and specific recommendations.
ADHD Indicators: You may want to consider an ADHD evaluation if your child has difficulty in the following areas:
Following instructions from teachers/parents/family members
- Focusing on tasks such as homework, chores, projects
- Staying seated
- Paying attention to details or often making careless mistakes
- Listening to others when they are talking
- Waiting his or turn to answer a question or participate in an activity
- Restlessness or acting as if "driven by a motor"/"always on the go"
ADHD Evaluation Procedures: The ADHD evaluation will take several hours. The clinician will spend the majority of the time with the patient. The child's guardian(s) will spend time filling out forms including a developmental history, questionnaires, and rating scales. During the appointment the patient will be completing psychological tests some of them are automated and run by the computer. Additionally, both the patient and the guardian will be interviewed regarding present concerns, expectations, and symptoms of ADHD. Following the initial evaluation, a feedback session will be scheduled. During the feedback session the clinician will review the results of the assessment as well as make recommendations about how to proceed. Additionally a written report will be generated and copies will be given to the patient's guardians. The report will include a summary of the evaluation and specific recommendations for the patient.
