Shannon Drabek graduated from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia in 2014 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and minors in Biology and Chemistry. She is currently enrolled in the Clinical Psychology program through Mercer University’s College of Health Professions in Atlanta, Georgia, where she received her Master of Science in Health Psychology in 2017. She is working on her doctorate in clinical psychology, with a focus on child and family psychology, and has an anticipated graduation date of May 2020. She has completed two years of practicum placements, with the first focusing on neurological and psychological evaluations of children, primarily focusing on children with ADHD, Learning Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. She completed her second practicum placement at Georgia Neurobehavioral Associates, providing individual and co-therapy, psychological/psychoeducational evaluations, and Applied Behavioral Analysis for children and adolescents. During her advanced practicum placement at Mercer University, throughout the 2018-2019 school year, she will be at the Marcus Autism Center in the Assessment and Diagnosis Clinic and working as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) at Georgia Neurbehavioral Associates. Currently, she is working on completing her dissertation entitled, Marital Satisfaction of Parents with Children Recently Diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder: Resources for Coping.
