Comprehensive Psychiatric services are available to patients of Georgia Neurobehavioral Associates as part of the behavioral health continuum offered to children and adolescents. Medical consultation is often a very important component in the development of an effective overall treatment plan. Our consulting psychiatrist specializes in the medical management of mental health and neurodevelopmental disorders such as:

  • Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
  • Neurodevelopmental Disorders
  • Behavioral Disorders

Diagnostic Psychiatric Evaluation

Each patient is evaluated on an individualized basis according to his/her needs. A psychiatric evaluation may include:

  • Interviews
  • Psychological History (review of previous evaluations)
  • Social History
  • Medical History
  • Family, Work/School History, consultation with other therapeutic providers
  • Laboratory Tests (blood work, diagnostic imaging, etc.)
  • Other information as determined by the psychiatrist

Medication Management

If medication is a part of psychiatric treatment, ongoing medication management is critical to overall treatment success. Regular appointments will be scheduled with the physician in order to monitor medication efficacy and the ongoing needs of the patient.
